Contrast

My logo is comprised of analogous colours of green. The logo gives an army or a nature like feeling which is connected to the topic or main purpose of my brand. The name of my brand is now "Cityfree" instead of "Cityscape" which is why I chose the colour green to give a nature vibe feeling. I think that my logo is pretty dark and hard to notice from far away due to the font and contrast. Next time I might cool colours to get the audiences' purpose.

Hierarchy

The placement of the images, title, and subtitle and are placed from top to bottom. I placed the title as it is the most important part of my logo which is why the font is much bigger than the other logos. The logo or image is placed in the middle to show that it is the focal point or subject matter of the logo. 

Alignment

I placed everything in the middle so that it can grab the audience's attention. It will also help them to focus on one place as the texts, as well as the images, are placed in the middle instead of being spread out.

Balance

The balance between the sizes of the text and images are based on the shape of the logo. The logo is placed inside the circle. In order to fit everything inside it, I balanced the sizes of the texts without losing the effectiveness of the title or the name. Although the background is placed inside the circle, the title, subtitle, and the logo are shaped like a circle.

Explain the idea behind your brand/logo designs.

My idea behind the logo is to show how the world is evolving at a quick pace. Trees are being placed with buildings and forests are starting to get rid of and changed into cities. I also used the quote "the grass is greener on the other side" as a guideline or the main idea of my logo. The product is called 'cityfree' because the products such as the clothes are made with local and cheap which also helps the environment. Although the product is called 'cityfree', it will be made for people who like fashion designed clothes. My target audience is between the ages of 17-25 as they have a strong say in this era. 

Give reasoning for your colour palette choices.

How do they relate or reflect your brand?

The colours that I used are analogous to the colour green as it gives a nature-like feeling. The navy green shows nature and the black and grey show a city-vibe feeling. I also used white on the logo to show that it is the main focal point.

Antithesis (English)

ANTITHESIS- is a form of writing where two contrast or opposite ideas in one writing which provides a contrasting effect if it is read.

WHY DO WE USE IT?- It adds a contrasting effect and adds two different opinions. It also makes writing more dramatic.

-Float like a butterfly sting like a bee.

-A small lie can turn into a big regret.

The Bystander Effect (English)

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” A quote by the famous scientist Albert Einstein is a reflection on the topic of The Bystander Effect. The Bystander effect is a social psychology which where a chance of a person helping someone in need will be affected by the number of people present in the scenario.

According to studies and experiments done by multiple psychologists, they have found that people will most likely help the person in distress with only a few audiences or people around them. These psychologists have tested this phenomenon with people as they measure the amount of time the specific person took to help. Found and confirmed, a scenario where there are only a few people will there be most likely to help in a faster time than where there are a lot of people.

It can also be called The Diffusion of Responsibility. This is a phenomenon where the chance of someone helping will decrease depending on the number of people around them. The person will mostly think that if there are a lot of people present in the scenario, then they might think that those other people will help the person that needs help.

This is a serious thing as it can cause much more distress to the person who is in need. Society should take action when someone is in distress as soon as they see that they are. Different scenarios where The Bystander Effect caused people to ignore someone in distress might lead to something bad happening.

Brainstorm (Art)

MY WHY: My why is to promote cityscape/urban through clothing and posters. My idea is to create something like a place where there is a lot of building. One of my ideas that I want to do is take on of the buildings at Time Square in New York.

Art (Final)

Every series in my folio are mixed with different media and techniques. The first series in my folio contains two media, painting and sketch. The cross is repeated in four of these artworks in different ways. The first artwork is based on Jesus' hand. I did the cross as well as the hand. I painted the blood, red so it has a little bit of colour. The first artwork contrasts the second one as they both have meanings. On the first one, the cross is holding Jesus while at the second one, Mary is the one who carries Jesus. I took advantage of the colours aswell by sketching the sad and dark part of Jesus' life and making the birth of Jesus a colourful one.




My folio consists of different and a lot of colours. What is noticeable and repeated on my folio is glass renaissance. I based some of my artworks on church glass or windows as they relate to my why. On the middle of my second folio, I placed three glass-like renaissance artworks and it covers three main and important events on Jesus' life, His birth, His Crucifixion, and His Resurrection. I did all of these by basing them in glass renaissance. I took advantage of the positive space by using all the space on my paper and covering them with colour. These artworks are linked to Michaelangelo's paintings by placing a halo. Michaelangelo's paintings are covered or have a halo behind saints, or Jesus Christ. I used this and add it on the glass renaissance. This also covers the old artist models by adding a border on my art like what Lichtenstein and using dark and simple colours like Frizzel.




My folio covers two media by showing different types of techniques like kitchen lithography, painting and sketching. I also did a mixed media by doing a gel/ink pen and adding paint on it. I also did a sketch with paint on it like for example, the rose and the opening sky.

Art (Thumbnail Sketch 3/Kitchen Lithography)

We have studied how to do Lithography, specifically Kitchen Lithography. In order to do a quick and good artwork, we decided to do kitchen lithography. It is supposed to be placed at the second folio but I decided to put it on the first one as it will add more depth and a different technique would be placed.




I also did a cross on my kitchen lithography as it will look good on my folio. I was supposed to only put one of them but I decided to put both of them and change the design of the other one. I added a board outside the cross which relates to Lichtenstein's use of borders in his artwork. Both of these crosses symbolise the dark or monotoned events that happened on the cross. I took advantage of the negative space on the left artwork to make the cross pop out. I then decided to add a border on the second one add some detail on the artwork.

This is one of the sketches that I was planning to put on my second folio. It is a simple sketch of the pierced side of Jesus. It is the last wound that has been struck by a soldier which then became a believer. I'm planning to also put red paint around the artwork to resemble blood and make it more noticeable.

Art (Folio 1 Complete)

This is my complete folio one. I added more paintings to add more colour to my folio and continued to show the importance of the cross. Every artwork on the folio one relates to my why of religion, specifically Christianity. I decided to repeat the cross as a symbol of Christianity. When I searched the word Christianity in Google, I saw a lot of crosses which I then decided to base my artworks with on the cross by doing it in different ways and techniques. Not all my artworks are not based on my two artists but I did use some of their ideas like the dove in the middle. I based the background from comic books as comics use colourful backgrounds. I also did a comic based background on the bible and the cross at the left side of the dove. Halos are also an important thing in doing religion as a topic on art. I researched some artworks that are based on religion and almost all of them has halos. I then used it on my folio as they will much resemble a church like art. Besides my two chosen artists, I also based my artworks to Leonardo De Vinci and Michaelangelo as they did a lot of paintings that relate to my why.
