winter central park The Cather in the Rye by J.D Salinger.

“I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go? I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.”

"As just as I expected, It was frozen, the ducks disappeared like shadows stepping into the light. I'm still wondering where could they go. As I walk past the lagoon, the cold breeze air kissed my chicks, and there was a duck sitting in a nearby tree trying to find a shelter or a warm place to rest. As I walk closer to it, it started running."

I kept walking until I reached my apartment downtown. The city is dead quiet because of the season. It is not like in the summer where we were crowded here like ants trying to gather food. I looked up into the sky, I noticed that the buildings were huge like giants looking in an ant, I was the ant of course.
